Solo Show Workshop
Learn the versatility and depth of long form cabaret-style storytelling, and theatre. Petch teaches us how to transform performance poetry into mesmerizing theatre that gives both audience and performer alike the opportunity to grow. In this workshop we will create a spoken word theatre piece together. Find the play structure, what will work, what won't. We will discuss considerations like stage requirements, tech needs/tricks, how to travel with a show that can make money, what tech do you need to bring, what makes a spoken word theatre different from a regular stage play and how to negotiate needs with tech people at festivals, or for production houses.
In advanced mentorship, I can work with you on both scripts and gear. How to have your whole stage and sound set up at your feet. How to build dimmer switches, how to make a lighting and sound set up out of nothing but hardware store elements and foot pedals. And if you're looking for a larger production assessment, I can help you to understand what to expect, how to ask for it and what is needed for press kits, tech notes and the hidden language of tech people for all live theatre mediums and photography.
